RE: Eco Net. The control box and web internet interface do not connect to smartphones. Home Depot and Lowes in house contractor referrals will not install these units ever; period. (Now I know why, I called nine of them and none of them even returned my phone call. Now I know why.) The EcoNet Rheem water heater app. and the heating elements in the water tank are all Chinese garbage. Rheem used to be a good product; not anymore.

I guess what bugs me the most are the screenshots in the App Store that show the current water temp at any time but I’ll be surprised if anybody has got that to work.

I just don’t trust the accuracy of what’s shown. For example running in HP mode for 4 hours straight from cool water to 120deg, each of the 4 hours should show kWs for each of the 4 hourly bins. It does not. There is only data for 9, 11 & 1pm. WTF ? Well at least the scheduler turns on/off correctly. Anyway, there needs to more clarity not only with which app to use, but how the HW heater behaves for all the possible adjustments of the app.

The promotion screens for each app shows exactly the same example screenshots. Even the version numbers and developmental comments are identical. However when you look at the size of the App update they are different between the two. So I’m using the rainbow app and it seems to work for the most part, scheduling, setting temp or the energy used with respect to time.
